rosemary problem

I have rosemary growing in a big pot plant but its starting to go brown and look like its dieing off,how can i fix this? darren77, wexford, Co Wexford Posted: 14/05/2011

It may be too late to rescue this plant, which sounds like it has suffered from lack of watering.

sage spots

my sage herb has got brown spots on it. I grow it in a polytunnel next to dill, thyme, oregano. rooster booster, knockainey, Co Limerick Posted: 10/05/2011

Sage does not need to be in a polytunnel and may have been scorched by sunshine in the hot weather.

flowering sage

I have sage growing in herb garden. Am new to this, appreciate information. have been picking tips to make bushier plant. Do i pick flower buds or just let them grow. parker, dublin, Co Dublin Posted: 19/04/2011

Sage is a relatively vigorous bushy herb and makes lots of leaves, whether you pinch out or take off flowers or not, but you can do either, if you prefer a neat bushy plant.

pest on sage

I have a sage plant indoors. It has a white powdery deposit on the leaves but is still growing. I cannot see any insects on it. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks. Guffet, , Posted: 30/10/2008

Sage is not an indoor plant in any circumstances. Put it outside and it will clear up.

Pruning sage

Hi Gerry, I have a sage plant in a container. The top of it has lovely green leaves, however, the bottom 3/4 of the plant has black leaves and looks terrible. Can I prune the plant back to encourage fresh growth lower down or should I take some slips to start again with a new plant? Thanks for your help, Denise Dinny, Kilberry, Co Meath Posted: 16/09/2008

Leave it until spring, then cut back hard and use some of the cut pieces as cuttings or take some cuttings in late summer or autumn.
