A time to admire the coloursame of June
Poppies are great for giving that extra punch to the summer garden.
Martina, your Papaver orintalis is looking great. The few I have were destroyed by the rain. I find Papaver 'Beauty of Livermere' is best to stand up to the rain and wind.
Some of mine are lying down and then others were more sheltered from the rain. Great for any garden.
Lovely sumercolour there Martina!
Lovely poppies! They do add punch nig time, don't they? As you say, Beauty of Livermere is also my favourite with its lovely rich red.
Vibrant colours of Poppies and lupins.
Lupins have been great this year, maybe due to all the rain. I love them as they remind me of my grandmother's garden.
I love Lupins too but have a problem with Aphids. But it's strange as they only attack certain Lupins. Maybe fussy about the colours lol
Lupins are a great border filler.
Mine were doing so so well. Then as I was taking a sharp-eyed visitor round the garden, he pointed out that one of my best lupins was absolutely smothered in white fly. I could not believe it. And there was a second one. I have never suffered this before, but May was extremely dry up here. No rain at all! I think it must have been the drought that got them as they were in a very dry spot.
