Sideways

05 March 2018 09:48:42

Does anyone have the solution for these annoying sideways photographs from iPad please?

Jacinta D Jacinta D 05 March 2018 15:13:30

Don't worry about that, Michele. There will shortly be a very new gardening website. Hopefully all these problems will be in the past.

Little bit of blue.

Cleared the snow off these little irises at the back door this morning. Not much of a thaw here in north Kildare near Wicklow border. My husband uncovered the car yesterday afternooon.

I think you’re in one of the worst places snow-wise unfortunately. Irises are a lovely shade of blue.

Michele Maria, you got it bad in your area. We did well in Carlow, re thaw. I was able to take the car out on Saturday morning. I took 2 photos of the garden yesterday, Sunday and no sign of snow.

Loo and behold!

As you can see these sweet pea seedlings were sown 10 days ago. I saw some posts about root trainers recently  so I decided to try loo roll inserts. Stay safe & warm everyone.

Looking nice and healthy so far.

Hope they do well for you.

That's a relly clever way to use the loo rolls! I tried them a couple of years ago but couldn't get them to stay standing! I got the root trainers and so far so good!

Thanks Rachel

Recently I was watching Rachel‘s video about hyacinths she had growing in her kitchen.  Inspired by this I bought a bowl of bulbs in Tesco the next day. They are in full bloom now and filling my kitchen with scent. Thanks for the tip Rachel!

It's nice to enjoy their beautiful scent indoors.  I used to grow them in the garden here but they always flopped.

I love the scent of hyacinths. Whites are my favourites of them.  Enjoy!

Very nice plants, you can plant these in the garden once they have finished flowering and enjoy for many more years to come

So you can, Peter, and iI would give them a wee feed before the foliage dies down.

Happy New Year to all.

I have nothing to report on the gardening front.

I was hoping to kick start the gardening year with the  Johnstown get together but unfortunately I won't be able to go.

Wishing that you all  have great day and that the weather will be kind to those travelling from afar.

The forecast for tomorrow in not good, but I am sure we will enjoy ourselves. It is a pity you can't make it, but there is always next year.

Jackie Jackie 12 January 2018 19:55:35

Many Happy Returns to you......its a pity you cant make it. Yes the weather looks dreadful but thankfully a lot is happening inside so we will be fine!! Maybe we might catch up during the year!
