Here are a few photos of dahlias doing well here at the moment.

I have always liked dahlias for their pzazz and continuous flowering from July on.

I have a lot of them in pots but I plan to move some of them into the open ground next year as I think they would do better there.

Earwigs have been having a field day as well. I tried setting traps but that didn't really work.

I am also going to get some new colours as the bright yellow and red Merluza just doesn't fit in.

Overall, though I am very happy with their performance and I wouldn't be without them.

They look great Moya; the second one looks really unusual and the third photo is a gorgeous shot of your garden. Dahlias clearly doing well there!

PS Just had a look at your August album, lovely planting!

They're beautiful, Moya. I love the colours of the first two particularly.

Love the blue and purple combinations and those Orange lillies are just stunning. Loce the dark honka type dahlia, any name for it.

Great colour combos Moya, really lovely.

I enjoyed looking at your August Album....what  beautiful colourful displays. That middle dahlia is so pretty.

These Dahlias look fabulous Maya. My Dahlias were not good this year but what's another year?

Thank you all very much.

Mary the black honka type is called Verrone's Obsidian. The only problem I have with it is that it is not as tall as I expected, otherwise I love it. I have Margot to thank for the big orange lily. I hope to see large clumps of it at her open day on Saturday.

Dick, I'm sorry that your dahlias aren't great this year but I am sure they will be next year!

Moya, I also grow Dahlia'Verrone's Obsidian' and was very disappointed with the size of the flower. Yours look bigger that the one I have. Saw a larger flower, same colour and shape, on a dahlia in a garden in England a few years ago, but no name on it. Have a great day in Margot's on Saturday and the weather forecast is good.
